The Insignia and Astra 2.0 litre CDTI (A20DTC/DTL/DTJ/DTH/DTE/DTR, later B20DTH) is a diesel. If it warms up regularly, the particulate filter regenerates. The three common faults are: DPF blocking on short trips (no regeneration), EGR coking (loss of power, rough idle, occasionally limp mode), and at high mileage injector imbalance.

The timing belt interval is 120,000 to 150,000 km or 6 to 10 years.
If the car only ran in town, the particulate filter can block because it does not regenerate, and the EGR cokes up.
What to check
- Ask for a full fault code read: DPF differential pressure, EGR, injector correction
- Try it on the open road: is there limp mode, loss of power, a DPF light
- Ask whether there was a forced regeneration, an EGR clean or a DPF replacement: ask for the invoice
