The bushing that attaches the shifter cable to the transmission ages over time and can detach.
Applies to the transmission 6F35.
2014–2018. The fault list covers this generation and the engines in it. If the listing gives the exact version, pick it below.
What to watch for
The list covers the generation, the engines and the transmissions. Once you pick the version, only the faults that apply to it stay.
The bushing that attaches the shifter cable to the transmission ages over time and can detach.
Applies to the transmission 6F35.
In the smaller models, the Fiesta, the Fusion and the B-Max, the IB5 holds up well, but in the larger Focus and especially the Mondeo it does less well: there the engine torque and the weight of the car put a heavier load on the same gearbox.
Applies to the transmission IB5.
The gearbox itself is reliable, but the shift mechanism wears noticeably between 100,000 and 150,000 km.
Applies to the transmission MMT6.
The timing belt runs in oil, under its cover, and cannot be seen from outside.
Applies to the engine M1JC, M1JJ, M1JU and 1 more.
On early units first gear engages late.
Applies to the transmission 6F15.
The gearbox is new, so data on its failures is still limited.
Applies to the transmission 6MX65.
The gearbox is light and compact and reliable, but the small oil quantity makes it sensitive to leaks: not much has to escape before the level becomes critical.
Applies to the transmission IB6.
Ford fitted its smaller models with a dry clutch dual-clutch gearbox (DPS6, factory designation Getrag 6DCT250).
Applies to the transmission DPS6.
The manufacturer fixes these for free at a franchised dealer. Ask with the VIN whether it was done. The list covers the whole generation. We did not filter it by model year. Some apply only to a narrower production window.

18V312000EQUIPMENT:OTHER:LABELSEQUIPMENT:OTHER:LABELS14 May 2018 · NHTSA (USA)Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2018 Ford Ecosport vehicles sold in the United States Federal Territiories. These vehicles were shipped with the European brake reservoir pictogram cap label and the European English language owner's manual kits. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."
Risk: Owners could be confused by the incorrect label on the brake fluid cap, potentially causing them to replace the brake fluid with an incorrect fluid which could affect brake performance, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the brake fluid cap and owner's manual kit, free of charge. The recall began on June 21, 2018. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 18C04.

2014–2018. The changeover year can fall in two generations. If the listing is from that year, look at the neighbour too.
No. It depends on the engine and the transmission too.
The fault list is.
We write the descriptions, and we put the source next to them. A person reviews them before they go out. They are still information, not a technical expert opinion.
